As I was walking in to one of Lyle's concerts a few years ago, I overheard someone talking about Jimmy Buffett singing "If I Had a Boat" in concert. This person said that Jimmy introduced the song by saying "Some songs you hear and you wish you had written them, and some songs you hear and just think 'Damn.'"—the implication being that there are some songs that you can't even imagine being able to write.
I had no idea that there was a video to this song—thank you YouTube!—but I love the opportunity to see Lyle's 1980s Eraserhead hair in its full glory. I hope you do too.
