We saw Dave Barry give a talk last week, and he recounted a very funny story about a dead whale that had washed ashore in Oregon several years ago. Now, under normal circumstances, a dead whale might not be funny, but in this case, the Oregon State Highway Division decided that the best solution to the problem of removing the decaying whale carcass was to get some dynamite and blow it up.
In hindsight, that plan was probably not the best choice.
Barry said that we could actually view the footage of the incident ourselves, and he was right! Be sure to stick around for the rain of whale bits.
